Long Island, New York, June 10, 2013, [press release] Chadwick’s at the Station in Rockville Center, an American chop house and bar, long an icon in fine dining, has announced the restaurant has changed hands and is under new ownership and management.

 

Award wining Chef Art Gustafson, a diverse and experienced veteran restaurant owner, food television, cruise ship and country club chef took over at the helm at Chadwick’s in December 2012.

 

A spokesperson for Chadwick’s announced that Chef Gustafson’s presence has not gone unnoticed stating, “Chadwick’s is delighted to announce that our chef, restaurant and cuisine got rave reviews from the Long Island Herald newspaper chain.”

 

“In a restaurant review written for ‘Table for Two’ by Terry Biener, a Long Island Herald reporter, she headlined Chadwick’s as ‘Fine Dining, Cozy Setting and a Chef Extraordinaire!’

 

“Ms. Biener also stated, ‘Dinner at Chadwick’s was an unexpected delight’ and she call Chadwick’s, ‘One of the coziest settings around. Muted lighting, mahogany accents, brick fireplace, tasteful knick knacks and well chosen art make it all extremely comfortable. Servers are well trained, polished and friendly.’

Chadwick’s was one of very few restaurants in the area open during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy thanks, in part, to its proximity to the Rockville Center train station. Chef Gustafson, who was one of the chefs providing food for 9/11 relief workers stated, “Our neighbors in the Rockville Center area filled our restaurant every night and we were delighted to be of service to them.”

 “Dinner at Chadwick’s was an unexpected delight. After five year leave during which he pursued other culinary avenues, award winning Chef Art Gustafson has not only returned but he has purchased the restaurant. At Chadwicks  sine December, he has redesigned menus combining American trendy, French bistro, neuvo Latino, Pacific Rim, Italian, Mediterranean and classic chop house fare.

 His techniques and presentations are stellar, as his background runs the gamut. He’s owned restaurants, manned kitchens for a cruise line, and country club, cooked on television food shows and prepared food for 9/11 relief workers.

You’ll dine in one of the coziest settings around. Muted lighting, mahogany accents, brick fireplace, tasteful knick knacks and well chosen art make it all extremely comfortable. Servers are well trained, polished and friendly. And according to Chef Gustafson, many more enhancements are in the workd.

 

Warm crusty rolls start you off. Tuna tartare with avocado, pickled cucumber, spicy mayo and soy caramel with crispy wonton chips-SENSATIONAL. Lobster bisque, served with garlic toast, was prepared with brandy scented lobster cream, a trace of truffle and generous morsels of fresh lobster. Lobster quesadilla were rolled and wrapped, filled with butter poached lobster, peppadew peppers, chipolte mayo, a dollop of tomat-avocado salsa and a side of spicy apple slaw.

Truly amazing was risotto prima, which came with toasty garlic shrinp and bits of lobster, asparagus tips, truffle sherry parmesan cream and tomato con-fit. Roasted sea scallops were deliciously served with lobster butter and caramelized tomato-shallot jam.


Filet mignon (and other grilled meats, chicken and salmon) is offers with seven sauce options. We tried wine reduction and brandy pepper cream, both great.


Save room for dessert; they are made on the premises. With coffee we were wowed by dulce de leche crème brulee and chocolate de decadence topped with gelato.


Price-wise, started ate $6 to $11. Salads are $8 to $18 with optional ad ons. Pasta and risotto which can be ordered as half or whole portions are $12/20 to $29. Entrees which include vegetables and a choice from various potato and rice dishes range $19 to $30. Surf and turf or lobster tails vary with market price. Desserts are $8.

 
Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:30am. Dinner is 4pm-10pm Monday through Thursday, 4pm-11pm on Friday and Saturday, Sunday 5pm-9pm. Parties can be arranged weekend afternoons. Call for specifics. Reservations are suggested."
